Well, look who’s back!

It’s been months since I have written any sort of update. I’ve been pretty busy at my new job and didn’t have fast internet at home, so I just let it slide. But now I have DSL and I plan to start writing regularly. I’d also like to redesign my website if I can make the time for it. I’d like to start an area dedicated to the Second Amendment and the free exercise thereof.

Things have been a little rough at work. It isn’t easy to start a new career but I’m doing the best I can right now. Hopefully I will be able to stay on full time when my contract is up. Better start saving some money just in case… But its in the Lord’s hands either way. He knows what I need to support my family. I believe this job was a blessing from Him and that He will help me to keep it if it is His will.

Happy New Year

Another year gone by. Seems like time is going faster and faster. I guess thats what happens when you get older. A lot has happened in the last year, some good, some bad. I’m looking forward to this year being better than the last. We have important elections coming up (Vote for Ron Paul!) and hopefully I should be starting a new job soon. I also want to make a resolution to be more committed to the Lord this year. Hopefully with the new job, I will be able to get back out to soulwinning and street preaching on Friday nights. That will be nice. God bless you all this coming year, and come soon Lord Jesus!

Paintball? Why Not?

I’m going to play paintball for the first time tomorrow. I’ve always wanted to try it. I spent my formative years playing video games, which everyone knows is training for killers, so I should do well. Sophek is celebrating a belated birthday (happy belated birthday, Sophek!) and wanted to get some folks to go play with him. There will be twelve of us men from the church I think, and it should be a good time. I’ll give an update of my lumps and bruises next week.

Back to the grind

I’m back in the office this week. I got to spend a glorious week at home enjoying my new baby and helping my wife get settled in. Her mother came to stay with us this week, so she still has someone at home to keep the kids occupied for a while longer, and I get to return to my natural state of sedentary existence sitting in front of my computer. So I should have some new posts coming soon, if anybody cares. Love you, Mom!

Thematic Chaos

I don’t know if anyone else has this problem, but whenever I embed YouTube videos in my posts, it causes my layout to go nuts. I thought that I had it whipped, at least it seems ok in Firefox. But right now I am at a customers site using a PC with IE 6 and it sure don’t look good. I need to work on it I guess.

Fighting Fundamentalists

I finally got validated on the Fighting Fundamental Forum, at fundamentalforums.com. The forum is operated by the same people who run the Baptist Board, so I thought that they might not allow me to register. But they seem to have a more, dare I say ‘liberal’ policy toward moderation. I don’t think they will ban me for doctrinal issues, according to their rules. So I will hang out with the fighting fundamentalists for a while. I pray that it will be a blessing. I noticed that there is already some anti-kingdom sentiment being sown by my good friend Herb Evans.

Herb is a man with a lot of understanding in many areas, much good wisdom to be sure, but for some reason he cannot wrap his head around the idea that God might judge a beliver. I understand the difficulty in accepting this truth, for I was not easily persuaded myself. But I suppose when you get to be as old as Herb, it is even more difficult to change course and would require swallowing a lot of pride. Surely great men of God have been able to admit that they have misunderstood scriptures for years before their eyes were opened. Perhaps one day Herb will admit that he has been kicking against the pricks and fighting against the wrong enemy. In any case, I am sure I can rely on Herb to provide plenty of hyperbole and alliteration.

Where can I find a good debate?

I got banned from the BaptistBoard.com forum today.

“The BaptistBoard.com’s Administrative Council has determined that the doctrine referred to as “Millennial Exclusion” falls outside the bounds of traditional orthodox Christain teaching. Therefore, the Administrative Council has deemed this false teaching to be “damnable heresies” (II Peter 2:1), and the has reached the decision to revoke the membership of those who continue to spread this heresy here on the Baptist Board.”

I have been a member of the Baptist Board for something like three years and have had many discussions with many folks on many issues. Being a debate forum, it would be an awful boring place if everyone had the same opinion. But I guess some opinions are too controversial for some folks. But I give praise to God that I have had an opportunity to spread the gospel of the Kingdom to others, and I know that there is bound to be some fruit from the sowing and watering done by myself and other brothers who have been diligently expounding the word of God daily on the Baptist Board. I pray that God will open the eyes of some of the good people that I have met online there, and for those that reject the accountability teaching I pray that God will be merciful to them.
